Have You Ever Wanted To Try Karate?

Learn in your own community, starting Wednesday, October 28th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at Blue Quill Community League (11304 25 Ave NW).

Open House: Thursday, October 22--- 7pm

Classes: Wednesday, October 28 to December 16 - 7 pm to 8:30 pm
$150 members/$185 non-members

Classes are suitable for ages 8-80+

Karate classes for Children, Teens and Adults at Blue Quill. Learn a traditional style of Karate from a team of highly experienced and qualified instructors.

Benefits from learning karate:

  • Fitness and Overall Health: Karate training improves flexibility, strength, coordination, and endurance of an individual.
  • Stress Reduction: In addition to the stress reducing benefits of any physical activity, Karate also improves concentration and awareness of mental attitudes that can cause stress.
  • Self-Confidence:  Traditional Karate places special emphasis on building character, and focuses on increasing self-confidence, awareness, and perseverance through repetitive physical and mental exercises.
  • Self-Defence: Learn traditional, effective and proven defence skills.

This is a family program, where Parents and Children can learn together in the same class.  With multiple instructors everyone gets a good workout and learns something.

New Year, New You! Yoga with Lindsay

What if 2015 is the year that changes everything?

Come join me on your yoga mat Tuesdays at the Blue Quill Hall!

These are beginner yoga classes that will progress over 6 weeks and are suitable for any “body” no matter age or fitness level.

During our classes we will touch on living a more positive lifestyle and work towards improving our overall physical and mental wellbeing for 2015. Click for more information.

Tennis Anyone?

Blue Quill courts are up and running in these first glorious days of spring. Ellen Toth, the Tennis Coordinator and Coach has started meeting some community members and having some hits. She now has a teaching cart complete with low pressure balls for beginners, smaller nets, ball “picker uppers” (the kids call them rocket launchers), and loaner racquets. Membership Drive and General Registration

Our Membership Drive and General Registration evening will be held on Thursday, September 17 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Loft of the community league.

All adults need to bring relevant I.D. to register themselves or their children in a program.

  • Cheques & cash are accepted for both BQCL memberships & programs, in separate payments only please.
  • Credit card payments will only be accepted during office hours (8:30 am - 1:00 pm from Mon - Fri).

Please make sure to also pick up your skate tags at time of purchasing your BQCL membership.
